We measure success by the opportunities we create, the heritage we safeguard, the communities we strengthen, and the legacy we leave for future generations; because our responsibility is not only to preserve the Medina's past; it is to ensure that its future remains positive, vibrant, resilient, and as inspiring as its history.
Students co-create the future of the Medina
We believe that the future of the Medina should be imagined by those who will inherit its future. That is why we open our heritage projects to students, researchers, architects, designers, and young creative minds, inviting them to see the Medina with fresh eyes, question what seems familiar, and imagine possibilities that connect its extraordinary history with the needs and aspirations of tomorrow.
Through our student-led initiatives, TUNISTORIC creates spaces where heritage becomes a living laboratory for creativity, research, and collective imagination.
What could Maison Achille become?
Rather than asking students to simply document the building as it exists today, we asked them to imagine what it could become tomorrow. Students took the lead in exploring possible futures for Maison Achille, developing ideas for how the property could be reactivated, reused, and reconnected with the life of the Medina.
Through research, observation, design, and imagination, students proposed different scenarios for the building's future. Their work explored how a historic property could become a place for culture, creativity, learning, entrepreneurship, hospitality, or community life.
By placing the future of Maison Achille in the hands of young people, TUNISTORIC created an opportunity to look at heritage without preconceived limits, to see the building not as a problem to solve, but as a possibility waiting to be revealed. A historic building survives when we find a reason for it to live again.

Faubourg Sud through its stories
The southern suburbs of the Medina of Tunis, where most TUNISTORIC properties are located, remains less explored and less understood than the heart of the Medina. Yet its streets and monuments hold extraordinary stories. Its architecture carries traces of different eras. Its walls have witnessed moments of political, social, religious, and cultural transformation.
We invited students to investigate this territory and imagine how its heritage could be brought back into the collective imagination. Their challenge was to explore the southern Medina not simply as a collection of monuments, but as a connected cultural landscape.
The result was a proposal for a journey through the southern, a cultural trail that reveals the magical, unexpected, and sometimes forgotten heritage that exists just beyond the most familiar routes.
